Search continues for missing Iowa State student
AMES, Iowa – Police will be helped by a helicopter and dive team in the search for an Iowa State University student missing since last week.
An air-ambulance helicopter fromĀ Des Moines will search from the air Sunday and divers will explore Lake LaVerne on the Iowa State campus and other waterways in an effort to find 21-year-old senior Jon Lacina.
He hasn’t been seen since Jan. 22. His father reported him missing Saturday.
Police already have searched an area between Campustown and Lacina’s residence in Buchanan Hall on the Iowa State campus. University staffers also are searching mechanical rooms, elevator shafts and other remote locations. Fraternity and sororities are searching those locations.
Anyone with information is asked to call university police at 515-294-4428.
