New sketch may help catch 2006 rape suspect
LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – Lubbock Police hope a new sketch will help catch a 2006 sexual assault suspect and maybe lead to solving some murder cases that have gone cold.
Four years after the attack, the victim came forward with more information about her attacker. Police said the victim used to be a prostitute, but has now cleaned up her act and wants to pursue sexual assault charges.
Police said back in 2006 the suspect choked the victim until she passed out and then raped her. “This sexual assault crime has a few similarities, has some factors that the detectives looked at, and said you know we like to also see whether it might be connected to some of the other homicides,” said LPD Captain Greg Stevens.
