Murder remains unsolved one year later
NEW HANOVER CO., NC (WECT) - One year ago, a young man was found murdered, and his family is still looking for answers.
On January 29, 2009, someone driving along River Road found Alton Corey Vann’s body. When deputies arrived they discovered that he had been shot in the head.
In May, Vann’s family put up a reward for any information leading to an arrest.
So far there are no arrests, but at one time deputies had named Larry Gonzales as a person of interest. Gonzales was Vann’s former roommate.
